About Me

About Me

I am proud to call this city my home. I was born in Bowie and have called this city my home for over 30 years. Growing up, I played youth sports as a South Bowie Shark, played with friends in neighborhood and city parks, and studied among the city’s excellent schools and libraries. I am honored to have the opportunity to run for City Council At-Large and further my commitment and service to Bowie’s growth, unity, and progress.

Having had the opportunity to complete a Master’s Degree in Government Organization and Leadership and a Juris Doctor has provided me with a diverse background that uniquely equips me to serve this city. I have worked on the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Oversight and Reform, focusing on the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy while currently working for the U.S. Senate’s Committee on the Budget. Additionally, I have worked for large corporations and small businesses within the city and have seen firsthand what they experience to stay afloat. These combined experiences ultimately inspired me to start my own small business firm.

I currently have the immense pleasure and honor to have been appointed to serve on several of the City of Bowie’s Committees. As a member of the Community Outreach Committee, I serve as the Chair of Veteran Affairs, Community Grants, and the Popp Award. As a member of the Green Team Executive Committee, I serve on multiple subcommittees as well as partner with the Environmental Advisory Committee on joint projects, all dedicated to furthering the city’s sustainability goals. Additionally, I serve on the Homeowner’s Association of my neighborhood, P-Section’s Tall Oaks Crossing, as the Newsletter Editor and member of the Community Affairs Committee. In my spare time I love staying as active as possible by camping and hiking with my family as well as participating in obstacle course races such as Spartan, Tough Mudder, Savage Race.

I’ve observed local, state, and federal politics for years. I’ve been inspired by past and current leaders and want to do my part to make positive changes in our community. I believe that local politics has the most direct impact on our daily lives and shouldn’t be something that’s ever overlooked. This is why I’m running for City Council At-Large; I hope to renew all the fantastic services, programs, and events that inspire community engagement. I will revitalize our city’s rich history and restore Old Bowie’s historic district. Together we can reimagine what Bowie’s future can be: its people, its businesses and its community, can work together to make Bowie a beacon to surrounding cities and counties and show them what’s truly possible when a community comes together to make a difference.
